Qamrul gets death threat
The Daily Star
A caller threatened of getting Qamrul killed by a death squad unless he halts his recent activities, the state minister told The Daly Star, adding that the caller did not mention what activities he has to stop.
The state minister said the caller identified himself as Chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based militant group
A general diary was lodged with the police station in this regard.

Boyfriend leads gang rape

A teenage girl was allegedly raped and pushed from hilltop by a gang of youths in the port city late night Saturday.
The victim, a 15-year-old garment worker, was under treatment in Chittagong Medical College Hospital yesterday.
Sources said she was in love with a youth named Swapan of Lalkhan Bazar area.
Promising to marry the girl, Swapan took her on top of Matijharna hill in his neighbourhood, said her elder sister. His four acquaintances Rubel, Tuku, Babu and Suman were also called in. READ MORE

Fine slapped on estate company for wiping out forests

A real estate company has been fined about Tk 3 crore for wiping out hills and forests on an area of 100 acres to develop a housing project at Jhilongja in Cox's Bazar.

Govt takes decision on Bangabandhu airport without any environmental study
The government decision of building Bangabandhu International Airport covering an area that includes thousands of acres of agricultural land and the biggest wetland near the capital without any feasibility study and environment impact assessment (EIA) has triggered mass protests in the localities.
The proposed site of the airport consists of more than 25, 000 acres of land in three upazilas of Dhaka and Munshiganj districts.

Abu Dhabi, December 29: A woman, believed to be a Ethiopian in her thirties, gave birth in a toilet of Dubai International Airport, and then proceeded to strangle the newborn baby and dumped its tiny corpse in a rubbish bin, reports Daily Mail, London.The woman caught a flight before the infant's body was discovered by a cleaner at the Airport.
She was identified using security camera footage and is being hunted by police.The woman allegedly severed the baby boy's umbilical cord with her bare hands and strangled him with a cloth before dumping him.The infant was discovered when a woman passenger informed one of the airport's cleaners about a pool of blood in the bathroom.
