We ARE alone: Despite discovering more planets, the chances of finding ET are unlikely, say astronomers
Daily Mail, 23rd January 2011
Is there life out there? Hundreds of planets have been discovered but all of them have hostile environments that would not support alien civilisations.
Astronomers fear we could be alone in the universe and doubt there are planets with intelligent life close enough to Earth for us to make contact.

Hopes were raised by Nasa two weeks ago when it announced the discovery of a rocky sphere with a diameter of 1.4 times that of our own planet.
It orbits a star named Kepler-10 and lies 560 light years from Earth. Nasa scientists hailed it as a 'planetary missing link.'
But they then admitted the surface temperature is a searing 1,3000c, blasted by the sun's rays which is just a few million miles away. Daily Mail>>

'Your lies killed my son...' Blair fails to pacify critics in torrid inquiry session

Tony Blair finally expressed regret yesterday for the hundreds of thousands of lives lost during the Iraq invasion, only for his long-awaited words to be met with anger by the families of some of those who lost their lives.
In emotional scenes at the Chilcot inquiry, the former Prime Minister was heckled as he said he regretted "deeply and profoundly the loss of life". Calls of "Too late" broke out as Mr Blair spoke, with one woman turning her back on him. Two others left. Rose Gentle, whose son, Gordon, was killed in Basra in 2004, shouted as Mr Blair left the hearing: "Your lies killed my son. I hope you can live with it."  The Independent>>

Roosters brandishing deadly blades on their legs square up to each other at a cockfight.
A cockfighting rooster appears to have taken deadly revenge on its trainer for forcing it back into the ring too soon.
The bird is said to have attacked owner Singrai Soren and slit his throat with razor blades he had attached to its legs.
Villagers in Mohanpur, West Bengal, were warned not to approach what police described as ‘an unknown rooster with black and red feathers’. Daily Mail>>
