Total of 7 Bangladeshis have been killed by Indian BSF in the last weeks

With these latest three, a total of seven Bangladeshis have been killed by BSF in the last two weeks of the current month of November.

The killing spree of BSF on the Bangladesh border continues unabated . BSF has killed three more Bangladeshi nationals along Benapole and Kushtia border on Monday.

According to UNB news agency, two Bangladeshi cattle traders were beaten to death by Indian BSF at Dhannokhola border in Benapole early hours of Monday. The deceased were identified as Abdul Gaffer, son of Jeraf Gazi of Ashasuni upazila of Satkhira district and Matiar Rahman of the same district.

Local sources said BSF troops of Indian Sut border chased a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders while they were returning to the country along with the cattle from India. At one stage, BSF men caught the two cattle traders and beat them up mercilessly, leaving them dead on the spot. Later, BSF left the body of Gaffar in the border area while dragged the body of Matiar into their camp.

According to another report, BSF shot dead Mokter Hossain along Mohishkundi frontier in Doulatpur upazila of Kushtia on Monday morning. BDR sources said the BSF troops of Nadirapara camp opened fire when five people including Mokter were fishing in Mathabanga river. Mokter died on the spot.

With these latest three, a total of seven Bangladeshis have been killed by BSF in the last two weeks of the current month of November.

Earlier, one Bangladeshi citizen was killed by BSF on November 10 on Lalmonirhat border. On Novemebr 9, two more Bangladeshi citizen were killed by BSF. These incidents took place on Jessore and Satkhira borders. In the previous incident, BSF shot dead a Bangladeshi in Burimari upazila on November 2.

It may be pointed out that according to news agency report, some 875 Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Bangladesh-India border from January 2000 to August 31 this year. During the period, the BSF also fired and wounded 923 people and kidnapped 933 others, according to 'Odhikar', a rights group. Some 55 Bangladeshi people were killed by BSF in the last nine months this year including seven in the two weeks of November
